Hello! I’m Alesia Smith and I’m a newer coach with the Heritage Figure Skating club and excited to be a part of the club.
I started skating at the age of 4 with the Rochester Figure Skating club. As I became more competitive I traveled to the East Coast during the summers to train and learn from Anne Milatano, Evy and Mary Scotvold. Being able to train alongside national, international and Olympic competitors gave me inspiration to take chances and go further in my skating and coaching career.
I’ve been coaching part time for about 15 years and involved in multiple skating programs locally. My coaching style focuses on hard work, play hard and building relations to last a lifetime. I’m eager to start a skating journey with your skater and watch as they grow.
Outside of the world of skating you will find me at the gym keeping up with my own physical activity or training for a marathon. I enjoy spending time with my husband Jack, and my son, Jack IV, our dogs, Juno and Piper. We are an active family and keep busy with Mountain biking, snowboarding, and various other activities. I also volunteer my time with the Minnesota High School Mountain Bike League at the volunteer coordinator, getting more kids on bikes.
