About Liz

I live in Edina with my husband, Mark and two kids, Duke and Jackie, as well as two dogs, Sprite and Crosby.

I started skating at the age of 5. I was a national competitor, ISI Freestyle 9, and double gold medalist in USFS.  I trained in New York with the talented Peter Burrows and Evy and Mary Scotvold in Rockton, Illinois.  I started teaching figure skating in high school and was a figure skating coach in Dallas for the Ice Capades.    I was a collegiate hockey cheerleader for the University of Minnesota and ultimately became a hockey cheerleading coach for the Gophers Men's Hockey Team.  I continued to be involved in coaching for MANY years and have directed Learn to Skate Programs locally. Currently I am the assistant director at Apple Valley's Learn to Skate program, a club coach for Eagan's Ice Crystals and a new coach for The Heritage Figure Skating Club.   I am excited and happy to a part of the Heritage Figure Skating Club.  I have trained students through their Senior moves in the field and Senior Freestyle levels.

I love to see the individual successes in the students and to see the excitement they feel when they have achieved something that they have worked so hard for. Skating can build so much confidence in each individual. I hope to help facilitate the accomplishments that each student wants to achieve and to help them be the best that they can be.
