My name is Tonyea Patterson, I grew up in Minneapolis, MN with my parents and three older siblings. I started skating at the age of three because my brother skated and I soon realized I had a love for skating! My competitive skating experience started within the Richfield Skating Club when I was seven and continued to skate competitively until I was a freshman in High School where I obtained Senior Ladies level (they didn't have moves in the field back then). It was a tough decision to stop competitively skating, but I was going to have to train outside of Minnesota and I discovered other athletic sports as well.
In 1989, I decided to begin teaching skating at the Apple Valley Learn to Skate and ISD 196 team. I have been teaching a Learn to Skate program to thousands of skaters ever since! Currently I'm the Director for the Lakeville Learn-to-Skate program. I enjoy teaching skaters of all ages. My coaching style focuses on hard work, having fun and reaching your skating goals. I am excited to start this new journey with your skater and start lifelong relationships. I still have a relationship with my one and only coach since 1974!

I am married to my best friend Troy and we have two children Mackenzie and Spencer who both played hockey. I have also been blessed with a Granddaughter Zuri, who will be on skates in no time.
When I am not on the ice -- I am employed as an Operations Manager for a family office, hold my real estate license, and am an active volunteer with Leukemia and Lymphoma Society - Minnesota Chapter. As a side note - many people know I am a passionate fan of the Minnesota Twins!
